Transgender women are to be banned outright from women’s and girls’ cricket in England and Wales. The England and Wales Cricket Board has updated its previous restrictions following a U.K.

Transgender women in England will not be allowed to play in women's and girls' cricket matches with immediate effect, but can continue playing in open and mixed cricket, England's cricket board (ECB) said on Friday.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has banned transgender women from playing women’s cricket at all levels with immediate effect. The move follows the ruling of the UK Supreme Court on 16 April, and mirrors the decision taken by the Football Association on Thursday.
