Francisco Lindor was greeted with a sweet surprise after learning Wednesday he had clinched an All-Star nod for the first time in six seasons. In a video shared by wife Katia on her Instagram Stories, the couple’s two eldest children presented the Mets shortstop with a sign to congratulate him on the MLB milestone.

Lindor was the only Met announced as a starter. Freddie Freeman beat out Pete Alonso at first base (61 percent to 39), and Juan Soto finished fifth among outfielders. Ronald Acuña Jr., former Mets prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker will start in the outfield for the National League.

Francisco Lindor will represent the Mets in Atlanta at the 2025 All-Star Game presented by Mastercard. In Phase 2 of the balloting, the fans voted him as the starting shortstop for the National League.
