The death of a woman who was partially paralyzed in the Columbine High School shooting has been ruled a homicide, raising the death toll of the 1999 attack to 14.

GOLDEN, Colo. — The February death of a woman who was injured in the 1999 shooting at Columbine High School has been ruled a homicide. Anne Marie Hochhalter passed away on Feb. 16 at age of 43. At the time, it was believed that she had died of natural causes.

The son of a man killed in Middletown was arrested Wednesday, the same day as the shooting, accused of violating the protection order his father had filed against him.

Anne Marie Hochhalter, 43, lived a rich life surrounded by friends, loved ones and dogs. She advocated for the disability community and had an affinity for playing musical instruments.
