Episode 8 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption at Kīlauea began at 9:52 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025 and is currently fountaining from the north vent, according to the USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.

Kīlauea volcano erupted once again Monday night, making this the eighth episode of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption that began at 9:52 p.m.

The eruption that began Dec. 23 resumed Monday, preceded by small, sporadic spatter fountains that continued to increase in intensity to reach "sustained fountaining," the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory said.

Episode 7 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption at Kīlauea began at 6:41 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27 and is currently feeding a lava flow onto the crater floor.

Kīlauea volcano on the Big Island has resumed eruptive activity as of 3 p.m. HST on January 22, 2025, marking the beginning of the fifth episode of an ongoing eruption that started on December 23, 2024.

Kilauea volcano has erupted once again, marking the start of its 8th eruptive phase. The effusive eruption at Halemaʻumaʻu summit crater reactivated on the evening of February 2, rapidly escalating into a dramatic display of volcanic power.
