Inter Miami will face Liga MX side Tigres with a ticket to the 2025 Leagues Cup semifinals on the line, but they’ll have to do so without their best player: Lionel Messi.

Without their star Argentine playmaker, Inter Miami made use of home-field advantage and beat Tigres 2-1 in their Leagues Cup quarterfinal matchup on Wednesday. Lionel Messi had a knock and couldn't play in the pivotal match, with Luis Suarez being supported by three attacking midfielders in Rodrigo De Paul, Tadeo Allende and Telasco Segovia.

Lionel Messi, who returned from injury last weekend, suffered a setback and had to miss the Leagues Cup quarterfinal against Tigres.
