Police have said 11 people have been killed after a gunman opened fire at an adult education centre in Örebro, Sweden.Armed police were scrambled to Risbergska School at lunchtime on Tuesday as terrified students hid under their desks and barricaded themselves in classrooms.

Police in Sweden said Tuesday that "about 10 people" were killed in a shooting earlier in the day at a school for adults in the city of Orebro, west of Stockholm.

Police were alerted to a shooting at a school in Sweden just after noon local time on Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to multiple outlets. At least five people have been confirmed shot and the public has been warned to avoid the area,
