President Donald Trump met on Thursday with golfing legend Tiger Woods as part of efforts to resolve a schism in professional golf between the PGA Tour and upstart LIV Golf, a person briefed on the talks said.

Monahan and Scott initially met with the President to discuss the PGA Tour’s future with LIV Golf on Feb. 4, a meeting that Woods did not attend because of his mother’s passing. The Commissioner called it a “productive” discussion, adding that “everything is moving forward with pace.”

Tiger Woods joined PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan and player director Adam Scott in a second White House meeting on Thursday, another sign the sport is moving rapidly toward ending the division brought on by Saudi-funded LIV Golf.
