An anti-President Donald Trump protest is being planned for T hursday in a traditionally Republican stronghold. The protest is being held in The Villages, a sprawling retirement community of more than 150,000 residents across three Central Florida counties with a largely GOP-voting population of retirees, per Gulf Live.
More than 150 people gathered in Fred Cone Park in east Gainesville in honor of the late U.S. Congressman John Lewis.
About 100 people gathered Thursday outside Orlando City Hall to protest the policies of the Trump administration as part of the nationwide “Good Trouble Lives On” demonstrations.
The closure comes after "no rapists on our campus" was painted on The Fence during a summit at Carnegie Mellon University.
The "Good Trouble Lives On" rallies marked the nation's fourth wide-scale protest organized by the same coalition as June's "No Kings" protests.
