TOWNSEND, Tenn. (WVLT) - News this week that the Great Smoky Mountains National Park won’t start Vehicle-Free Wednesdays in May this year isn’t settling well with many in Townsend.

Cades Cove has an estimated 2 million visitors every year. It is on the Tennessee side of the park near Townsend. The Cades Cove Loop Road was last fully resurfaced in 2010.
