On Wednesday afternoon, the Pro Football Hall of Fame announced that the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers will square off in the 2025 Hall of Fame Game on July 31, at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio.

The release of the 2025 NFL schedule is less than three weeks away. During the NFL Draft on Thursday, the league announced that the schedule will be coming out on Wednesday, May 14. That's when the full 272-game schedule will be released.

In 2024, the schedule was revealed on May 15, with the Brazil game announced one month earlier on April 10. The year prior, in 2023, the NFL announced its 18-week, 272-game regular-season schedule on May 12.

The deadline for NFL teams to pick up fifth-year options on the rookie contracts of 2022 first-round draft picks is May 1. Teams have to decide whether or not to keep those players for a fifth season.
