All evacuation warnings have been lifted regarding the Canyon Fire in California after firefighters appeared to gain the upper hand in battling the wildfire, which broke out amid a heatwave and rapidly spread to over 5,

The fire has scorched an estimated 5,400 acres north of Los Angeles, but Ventura County officials said firefighters were making “good progress in suppressing the blaze.”

Fire officials say the blaze is threatening power lines as well as the communities of Hasley Canyon and Hathaway Ranch.
