A weak cold front brings the threat of storm chances this weekend, but will it be enough to take the edge off the early-August heat?

Friday will bring a decent chance for scattered afternoon/ evening storms, then we have a tricky weekend forecast. A cold front will approach, then stall and it's a challenge as to how close to Houston the front will stall.

It's going to be partly cloudy Thursday, but the heat continues with highs in the upper 90s and the chance for a few isolated storms.
