Multiple earthquakes rattled parts of San Bernardino and Riverside counties Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. An initial 3.0-magnitude quake struck the area near Rialto around 8:34 a.m. and was followed by a 2.8-magnitude quake and several aftershocks.

A preliminary magnitude-4.4 earthquake in the San Bernardino area produced shaking that was felt over widespread parts of Southern California. The quake, reported at about 9:30 a.m., was one of four of magnitude-2.5 or greater in the area, which includes the communities of Muscoy and Rialto.

LOS ANGELES — A magnitude 4.3 earthquake rumbled through Muscoy in San Bernardino County on Thursday morning, triggering shaking across the Inland Empire region, Los Angeles and Orange counties, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
