The result in Nashville marks a particularly bitter end for a Vanderbilt team that had surged late to claim the SEC Tournament title and entered the field as the No. 1 overall seed.

The two teams will face off May 30 (5 p.m. CT, SEC Network). The other teams in the regional are No. 2 seed Louisville (35-21) and No. 3 seed East Tennessee State (41-15).

SEC play begins on Jan. 3 and lasts until March 7. The SEC Tournament takes place between March 11 and March 15 in Nashville, before the NCAA Tournament begins on March 17, 2026.
