Storm Floris is expected to bring travel disruption to Britain on Monday, with weather warnings set to come into force. Some train and ferry services have already been cancelled with more likely to be impacted, including air and road transport.

Weather warnings are now in place in six counties as Storm Floris makes landfall in Ireland. Met Éireann has warned that the storm is likely to bring very strong and blustery southwest winds veering westerly, with some damaging gusts, as well as spells of heavy rain with a chance of thunder.

Status yellow wind and rain warnings have been issued by Met Éireann for eight counties as Storm Floris is set to bring “very strong and blustery winds” on Monday. The forecaster warned of some “damaging gusts”, possibly dangerous driving conditions, structural damage and power outages in some areas.
