Bernthal’s Frank Castle, a.k.a. the Punisher, who returns as the character in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, headlines the Marvel special, which is said to be in the vein of Werewolf by Night or The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, according to EW, which first reported the news.

It’s also set to bring Netflix’s pulpy bloodshed into Marvel’s relatively tame cinematic universe, marking a major first for the franchise. And with early reactions already leaning positive, it seems like the wait has been well worth it.
