The NHL and NHLPA ratified their new collective bargaining agreement, which takes effect in 2026-27 and runs through 2029-30, with more than a year left on their current deal.

There are currently 32 teams in the National Hockey League. 16 in the Eastern Conference and 16 in the Western Conference.
