Volkswagen's RWD electric version of the Golf hatchback, the ID 3, aced its exam when it was put through its paces by German roadside assistance company ADAC.

The range-topping ID.3 GTX Performance features the most powerful VW electric drive motor to date with up to 322 hp. The base ID.3 GTX gets the same 282 hp as the RWD 2024 Volkswagen ID.4.

We are talking about the ID.3 GTX, which will become an all-quiet alternative to the iconic VW Golf R. However, it might actually be a bit less powerful than the ICE -powered AWD hot hatch.

In the power department, the 2024 Volkswagen ID.3 Pro S has 228 hp (231 ps/170 kW), which is a healthy boost compared to the usual 201 hp (204 ps/150 kW).

Prices start from €43,995 ($46,336) for the ID.3 Pro Life, all the way up to €56,500 ($59,230) for the ID.3 Pro S Tour, with both figures calculated before government incentives.

Volkswagen has been spotted testing an updated version of the ID.3, the compact hatch whose 2019 launch marked the arrival of VW's ID family of electric vehicles.

Thanks to its dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup, the new Volkswagen ID.7 GTX Tourer makes a total of 250 kilowatts (335 horsepower), 40 kW (53 hp) more than the most powerful non-GTX ID.7 available.
