Lee Vogler, a city council member in Danville, Virginia​, was set on fire by a man who entered the office of a local magazine where he worked, police said Wednesday.

A Danville, Virginia, councilman has been airlifted to a medical facility after being set on fire, according to officers with the Danville Police Department. On Wednesday, around 11:30 a.m., officers said they were dispatched to the 700 block of Main Street for a report of a male being set on fire.

Shotsie Michael Buck-Hayes allegedly confronted Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler, 38, at his office at Showcase Magazine on Wednesday and covered him with a flammable liquid, the Danville Police Department said. Both went outside, where Buck-Hayes allegedly set Vogler on fire, police said.
