He retired from Wimbledon in the fourth round in 2024 with an abductor tear. He trailed Daniil Medvedev, 5-3, in the first set at the time of that injury.

Jannik Sinner advanced to the Wimbledon quarterfinals despite hurting his right elbow in a fall in the opening game and dropping the first two sets Monday night, when his opponent, Grigor Dimitrov, wound up quitting in the third because of an injured pectoral muscle.

For Dimitrov, he is still in the prime position to reach the quarter-finals for the first time since 2014 when he beat Andy Murray.
