After a federal court upheld a pause on the SAVE plan, the Education Department removed other income-driven repayment applications from its website.

A huge number of student loan borrowers may need to change their repayment plan this year. And many may experience higher monthly payments as a result.

The decision to cease applications came after the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld a temporary block of the Saving for a Valuable Education (SAVE) plan on Feb. 18, siding with a coalition of Republican-led states that sued to block the program.
