GeForce NOW taps into the thriving PC gaming ecosystem by streaming games from NVIDIA GPUs in the cloud, this week adding 9 new titles to its library.
GeForce Now players subscribed to the Priority tier can stream Gears 5 at 1080p and 60FPS, with Ultimate members having the option to stream it at 4K resolution at 120FPS or 240FPS for lower latency.
But GeForce Now does have longer loading time than a local PC, because Nvidia’s servers need to connect with Steam/Epic/Uplay’s servers first before you can actually load into the game.
GeForce Now isn’t perfect, and the new RTX 3080 tier doesn’t change that. It’s a platform built on tech, not usability; you don’t have to look further than starting a game to see that.
GeForce Now, Nvidia’s game streaming service, is now available as a free beta for PC and Mac. You can play games on systems that normally couldn’t – if you have an excellent internet connection.
