There were many aspects that led to Carson Wentz's downfall with the Philadelphia Eagles. Jalen Hurts' success filling in for Wentz was certainly one of them. Wentz struggled throughout the 2020 season as the Eagles decided to make a change to find a spark in the offense.

Carson Wentz once again will mostly be a spectator on the sidelines for a Super Bowl appearance by the Philadelphia Eagles.

As Wentz talked to the media before that Super Bowl, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie made it clear that Wentz was the future of his team despite Foles' playoff run. Wentz was a 24-year-old star. In June of 2019, he signed a four-year, $128 million deal.
