The single mum who defeated Peter Dutton in his long-held seat of Dickson has honoured her late 19-year-old son who died of leukaemia in 2024.

Peter Carr, another Dickson local, said Mr Dutton had been a good MP for the area but wasn't surprised he lost the seat. "It was pretty close, obviously. There was a narrow margin," he said.
