The new owners of Winn-Dixie include a New Hampshire-based wholesale grocery company. Winn-Dixie and Aldi each now have eight stores in Brevard.

The Great Aldi Conversion has slowed down a bit. The discount grocery chain is selling the Winn-Dixie, Harveys stores it bought less than a year ago.

The discount grocer will convert roughly 220 Winn-Dixie and Harvey's Supermarket stores to its brand by 2027 while selling another 170 locations.

Aldi US has agreed to divest approximately 170 Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket stores that are not part of its conversion plan.

Southeastern Grocer's president and CEO and C&S Wholesale Grocers, have acquired Southeastern Grocers and its Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket banners from ALDI U.S.

Winn-Dixie Stores Inc. and Harveys Supermarket are subsidiaries of Jacksonville, Fla.-based Southeastern Grocers, an omnichannel retailer serving customers in brick-and-mortar grocery stores and liquor stores, as well as online with grocery delivery and curbside pickup throughout the Southeast.

This includes about 170 grocery stores in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida. It also covers the current Winn-Dixie liquor store business.

Less than a year after it closed a deal with Southeastern Grocers to buy all of its Winn-Dixie and Harveys locations, Aldi said Friday it will sell about 170 of the supermarkets to a group of private investors.

About 220 Winn-Dixie and Harveys stores will still be converted into ALDI locations, SEG said. “When we announced our acquisition of Southeastern Grocers, we shared that we inte
