After a hacker reportedly stole data from TeleMessage Signal that included references to CBP, the agency has now confirmed that it used the app but has now “disabled” it as a “precautionary measure.”

On Monday, a report from 404Media found that a hacker obtained direct messages and CBP contact information from TeleMessage after Mike Waltz was spotted using the company’s modified version of Signal.

A hacker breached TeleMessage, a company that sells a modified version of Signal to the US government. Mike Waltz was spotted using it last week.
